Frequently Asked Questions
Looking for answers? You’ve come to the right spot! Click on any question to reveal its answer.
How long does it take to walk through the Holiday Light Show?
It is about two-thirds of a mile (0.67 miles) walk through the gardens from the entrance to the exit. You are free to walk at your own pace and take as much time as you’d like to see the lights.
Do you have wheelchairs available for people who are unable to walk through the show?
Yes, Rotary Botanical Gardens has four (4) wheelchairs available. There is no rental fee, but they are provided on a first-come, first-served basis. We also have several accessible parking spots in the center portion of our parking lot.
Are masks required at this year’s show?
No, masks are not required for entry. We ask that anyone who is sick or feeling ill stay at home and attend the show when feeling healthy.
What COVID-related safety measures have you taken?
For everyone’s safety, we have made these accommodations:
- The entire Holiday Light Show route is one-way only, including entrance and exit points.
- Expanded hours and added show nights to spread out the attendance.
- Attendance is capped each night to limit the number of people on site at one time.
What happens if the weather is bad?
We think a little snow adds to the beauty of the event, but of course, if the weather presents a hazard, the Gardens’ decision to cancel the event will be made at 2 p.m. on the day of the event. You will be notified via email of any cancellation and about the rescheduling process. Also, please check the RBG website and Facebook page for updates.
When is the best time and date to visit?
Buy your dated tickets well in advance of the show date, as we anticipate selling out on weekends and dates near the holidays. We also recommend coming later in the evening (7:30 p.m. and later) to avoid peak crowds and times.
No, no pets are allowed. The gardens contain sensitive plants and landscapes, so please leave your four-legged friends at home. Exceptions are made for registered service animals.
Are wagons and strollers allowed?
Yes, both wagons and strollers are allowed at the Holiday Light Show.
We will have porta-potties available in the Wellness Garden (about halfway through the show) and in the main parking lot. No indoor facilities will be available.
Will you be selling concessions?
We will have a limited number of items for sale, such as hot chocolate, coffee, bottled water, frosted sugar cookies, and 3-D glasses. These items will be sold from the Education Center’s entrance vestibule.
